The Highest Dream

Eight years after standing on the highest point on Earth, Nacho Montesinos returns to the Himalayas with his young goddaughter, Catu. As they walk together toward Everest Base Camp, a simple question sets off an unexpected journey through memory: how does an ordinary person achieve an extraordinary dream?

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, far from the world's highest peaks, Nacho never fit the image of a mountaineer. But from the moment he reached the summit of Aconcagua at 21, he set out to fulfill a bold dream that most considered impossible: summiting Everest. For decades, work, family and everyday responsibilities competed with that ambition, while doubts — his own and others' — constantly challenged it.

Through intimate conversations on the trail, Catu uncovers the story behind her godfather's ascent of Everest, and the decisions, sacrifices and obstacles that forged his highest dream. But as the journey unfolds, this story becomes about more than a mountain: it explores the values we inherit, the role models who shape us, and the responsibility of carrying our dreams forward.

Set against the landscapes of the Himalayas and the Andes, this is a reflection on perseverance, mentorship, legacy, and the transformative power of believing that an ordinary life can still hold extraordinary possibilities.
